Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

Wird App Ltd ("Wird", "we", "us") — company number 17316456, registered in England & Wales at Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom — is the data controller for the Wird mobile application. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: your reading stays on your device, we never see which apps you block, and we don't sell data to anyone.

Data that stays on your device

Optional account & sync

If you choose to create an account, we store your email address and a copy of your reading progress (page cursor, streak, settings) so it can be restored across devices. This is hosted by Supabase. You can use Wird fully without an account. You can delete your account and synced data at any time in the app, or by emailing us.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the app is used — events such as "app opened", "onboarding completed" or "daily wird completed", together with basic device information (model, OS version, app version, country-level locale). This data is used solely to improve the app. We do not collect your name, contacts, location, browsing history, or the content of anything you read.

Subscriptions & payments

Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details. We use Superwall to display subscription offers and to know whether a subscription is active. Manage or cancel any subscription in your App Store settings.

What we don't do

Legal bases (UK & EU GDPR)

We process account data to perform our contract with you; analytics under our legitimate interest in improving the app; and subscription state to deliver what you purchased.

Data retention & deletion

Local data lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app. Synced account data is kept until you delete your account. To request deletion or a copy of your data, email support@wirdapp.app — we respond within 30 days.

Your rights

Under UK/EU data protection law you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Wird is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and note it in the app.
